I was told that I should (if I wanted to) be able to switch back and forth between Wifi and USB, and the computer would recognize the different connections automatically, but I find that is not the case for me. It all took about 5 minutes on the phone, and was surprisingly painless. The printer then could print and scan by WiFi. I was told to click on the longer one with the series of letters and numbers, then click OK at the bottom. One said "Canon MP560 Series", and the other said "Canon MP560 Series_5F5053000000".

Next, I had to go into Applications> Canon Utilities> MP Navigator EX 3.0> Scan/Import> Preferences> Product Name> There were two printer types listed. Then click + (add), go to "More Printers", then add the one listed. I was reluctant to do that, thinking I would get a geek that I couldn't understand, but that wasn't the case at all.įirst, I had to go to System Preferences> Print & Fax> Then I had to delete the printers I had listed. I did find the IPv6/IPv4 setting on the printer, but changing it did not help.
